The Center for Distance and Independent Study (CDIS) at The University of Missouri offers a range of online courses for distance education students to apply towards their degree. Independent study allows students to complete coursework without attending class. Students can enroll anytime, anywhere, and work at their own pace.
Students use independent study courses to:

To complete CDIS online courses, students will need access to a computer with a modern Web browser, a working Internet connection, word processing software, and disk space to save work. Browsers should support graphics, run JavaScript and accept cookies, which are used solely to verify login information. Portions of the courses may require Adobe Flash Player. Also, a proctor is required for all exams.
